Es war eine schwere Geburt - monatelang hielt sich DaimlerChrysler bedeckt über die Fortschritte des Pekinger JV. Jetzt laufen auch offiziell Autos vom Band bei Beijing Benz-DaimlerChrysler Automotive Co Ltd (BBDC), ein JV mit der staatlichen Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co (BAIC). Dieser Meilenstein (Zetsche) hat DC 200 Mio $ Investitionen gekostet. Insgesamt will Daimler Chrysler 1,5 Mrd $ mittelfristig in Nordost-Asien investieren.
Was wird produziert: E-Class, Mitsubishi Outlander sedans (since december), in November launch of the Chrysler 300 C. It took 20 months of preparation to set up the facility with its production of 800.000 units p.a. So far 4,100 Mercedes-Ben E-Class sedans have been produced. Annual output is targeted with 25,000 Benz and 80,000 Chrysler and Mitsubishi Motors Corp (MMC) vehicles this year.
The manufacturing site includes Mercedes Car Group and Chrysler Group/MMC facilities, a paint shop, stamping facility, logistics etc., separate body shops and assembly areas for each brand. (CD, 16.-17.09.2006)
